ki'mon

We passed a big truck on the way to school and Jacob was curious about all the little gadgets. After five questions, my response became a series of I don't know's. Not buying it he says, "Ki'mon Mom, you know everything. Tell the truce!"

movie night

Jacob and I decided to have a movie night. So we put in a DVD and cuddled up in my bed. A few minutes later, he decides to grab his sleeping bag and pillow and camp out on the floor. As soon as he was all set up, he paused for a second to look up at me. "Mama, will you like it up there all by yourself?" It sounded like a strange question and I wasn't quite sure where he was going with this so I asked him why he wanted to know. His answer: "I just don't want to make you sad up there all alone."

morning snack

On the way out of the door, Jacob decides to tell me he's starving and needs something to eat. I grab a peanut butter/chocolate chip granola bar and tell him to hurry to the car. I ignore him as he buckles his belt, complaining about how I should have let him eat a bowl of cereal, which we clearly didn't have time for. "Mom," he says, "Why are you letting me have this when I'm still a kid? Do you know this could make me have a cavity!?"

poor Jacob

Jacob and Grandpa share an afternoon treat of two chocolate pieces after school. One day before their treat, they took a trip to the backyard to pay their respects to Speedy Knuckles. Jacob trotted up to the tiny angel headstone and called "Hey Speedy!" before excitedly turning back toward the house. While walking inside he looked up at his grandpa with heartbreak on his face. "Grandpa, since I had to see Speedy Knuckles today, can I have FOUR pieces of chocolate?" Nice try, poor little Jacob. Although I'm curious to find out if Grandpa gave him the extra chocolate...

more powers

A few weeks before his request to see the doctor for special powers, he yells to me from the bathroom, "Mom, I think I have special powers!" He went on to explain, "Tyler and I were playing a really cool game, who can count to 100 the fastest, and I accidently used my special powers and won." Wow. That is a cool game.

powers

Jacob peeked his head through my door first thing this morning and asked, "Mama, when can we go to the doctor to get my special powers?" He wants to be like Inspector Gadget when he grows up.
